By using our Universe of Skills website, you consent to us collecting and using personal information about you, as specified below, in accordance with this statement.
As a customer, in accordance with the law of December 8, 1992 on the protection of privacy (Belgium), you have the right to view, change and delete this personal information if you no longer wish to receive information about the activities of Universe or skills. You always have access to your data and can change it by going to the ‘My Account’ section on our websites after logging in. You can also always contact us.
1. Who collects the information?
This website is owned and operated by Universe of Skills, a private company based in Belgium. Universe of Skills, with registered office at Neerlintersesteenweg 88, 3471 Hoeleden (Belgium), controls all personal data displayed or collected via this website.
2. What do we collect?
To access the content of the websites you need to register for a Universe of Skills account). The following personal data are requested, stored, collected and/or processed:
• Personal identity data: name, first name, address, telephone number, email
• Personal characteristics: gender, date of birth
• Photos, images and footage
• Billing information: Name, address, VAT number
3. Why do we collect?

Your personal data will be processed by Universe of Skills for the following purposes:
• Being able to identify you to provide you with the Universe of Skills program for which you have an active membership
• In function of organizational functioning: for example quality assurance, processing complaints, providing practical information, sending invoices, etc.
• In function of sending newsletters, informing about other services and products of Universe of Skills and advertising purposes (website, printed matter, etc.)
2. Specific for parents/guardians and children
The personal data of children under the age of 16 are processed by Universe of Skills for the following purposes:
• being able to identify to provide the child with the Universe of Skills program for which there is an active membership
• In function of organizational functioning: for example quality assurance, processing complaints, providing practical information, sending invoices, etc.

4. How do we collect and use your personal information?
We only collect the personal data that you provide to us in various ways (contact forms on our sites, registration forms, registration accounts, personal/telephone/email contact, etc.).
We do not collect personal data via third parties, with the exception of the information we receive from third parties for whom Universe of Skills organizes or carries out training and/or assignments on request/on request (e.g. cities, schools, sports organisations, …)
It is possible that photos or videos are taken during activities. Universe of Skills may use atmospheric images or images of crowds without permission (neither for taking nor for use afterwards).
We will use your email address and password to uniquely identify you when you log in to the Universe of Skills websites and to verify that you have an active membership in the Universe of Skills program you wish to access.
We may use your email address to send you automatic notifications, confirmations of purchases you have made from us, or to inform you about other activities related to the use of Universe or Skills programs (such as password reminders).
We may use your email address to inform you about important changes to the Universe of Skills program, such as changes to the functionality of our websites, changes to this privacy statement or changes to our Terms and Conditions.
We may use your e-mail address to possibly inform you about other services or promotions, which we estimate may be of direct interest to you. You must be subscribed to receive these messages.
5. Minors
We only process personal data of minors (persons under the age of 18) if written permission has been given by the parent/guardian or legal representative.
6. Disclosure of personal data to third parties by Universe of Skills
We may provide the data you provide to us to third parties if this is necessary for the implementation of the purposes described above. For example, we use an external third party for, among other things,
• taking care of the websites and internet environment
• taking care of IT infrastructure
• providing (and distributing) newsletters
• various administrative and legal obligations with regard to personnel and office management
We never pass on personal data to other parties with whom we have not concluded a processor agreement. We make the necessary agreements with these parties (processors) to guarantee the security of your personal data. Furthermore, we will not pass on the information you provide to third parties (provide other parties), unless this is legally required and permitted. At no time do we sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
7. Online Payments
To gain access to the Universe of Skills program, you may need to transfer payments to us. You make these online payments with the payment options Stripe/Paypal. All payments are processed by Stripe/Paypal, and not by Universe of Skills. Universe of Skills has no access to the details of your credit card or payment method and therefore cannot store this information in its systems. All payment transactions are processed via a secure connection between your internet browser and Stripe/Paypal servers and are encrypted at all times. Your payment details will not be passed on to a 3rd party. 8. How do we protect your information?
Universe of Skills is committed to ensuring the security of the personal data we hold and preventing unauthorized access to it. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of personal data. For example, we have taken the following measures
• All persons who can access your data on behalf of Universe of Skills are bound by the confidentiality thereof;
• We have a username and password policy on all our systems;
• We pseudonymise and ensure the encryption of personal data if there is reason to do so;
• We make backups of the personal data in order to be able to restore it in the event of physical or technical incidents;
• We regularly test and evaluate our measures;
• Our employees are informed about the importance of the protection of personal data.
• Universe of Skills respects the obligation to report data breaches as provided for in the GDPR.
Our security procedure may mean that we may request proof of identity before disclosing any personal information to you. It is important that you protect yourself against unauthorized access to your password and your computer. Make sure to sign out of your accounts every time you’re done using a shared computer.
9. Retention period of your data?
Universe of Skills does not store personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was provided or required by law. Universe of Skills applies the general principle that personal data is kept for a maximum of 10 years after the last use, unless legal provisions or unambiguous statement allow an exception. When your data is no longer needed, we will securely destroy all stored documents and data containing personal information.
10. Your rights regarding your personal data at Universe of Skills
You have the right to inspect and receive a copy of the personal data relating to you. You have the right to correction if your data is incorrect or incomplete. You have the right to delete the personal data that we have received from you and that are no longer strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were processed. We do reserve the right to determine whether your request is justified.
You have the right to restriction of data processing: if you object to the processing of certain data, you can ask to stop this processing. You can also object (oppose) to the processing of your personal data (or part thereof) by us or by one of our processors. For example, you have the right to object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes (via unsubscribe options in e-mails). You also have the right to have the data provided by you transferred by us to yourself or directly to another party on your instructions.
At the top of this privacy statement you will find how you can contact us. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself adequately. To verify your identity, we ask you to enclose a copy of your identity card. We strongly recommend that you make your passport photo invisible and state that it is a copy. The processing of your personal data does not include profiling and you will therefore not be subject to automated decisions.

Except as otherwise stated in this policy, we will not disclose personal information to third parties, except as required by applicable law, court order, or rules and regulations of government or regulatory authorities (for example, to prevent or detect crime).
